One of the oldest national parks in Sri
Lanka. The second largest. This park is
popular for the different types of animals
it inherits. Tuskers and Leopards are
generally found in Yala. Established in
25/02/1938 with a land extent of 103,883
hectares. In 1970 Yala east of 18,142
hectares was attached and the area was
increased to 122,024 hectares. This park
is situated at the Southern part of Sri
Lanka. Yala National Park is situated
approximately 309 Km from Colombo.
